Pretty much all kinds of recording have been done here at Ocean Sound. There’s something special about the main live room, it’s kind of hard to make it sound bad ..and it’s hard to not get inspired takes in these surroundings. The rooms and layout is really suited for bands and ensembles and the vibe is perfect for tracking vocals.

Ocean Sound Studio B has become a Dolby Atmos Music Studio. This is a technology we’re really excited about. The song gets an extra dimension for even more emotional impact and becomes a truly immersive experience. We’re thrilled to be able to offer mixing for the Dolby Atmos format!

We’re mainly known for being one of Europe’s preferred destination studios for recording. But since our mix suite, Studio B, were finished in 2014 we’ve also steadily built quite an reputation for our high-end mixing. Anders Boska and Henning Svoren are comfortable mixing everything from acoustic music and jazz to modern pop and heavier genres.

By increasing demand we’ve added mastering as one of our services. Henning Svoren do our mastering to the highest standards and have mastered some of Norway’s most streamed songs and albums as well as more esoteric projects. We deliver masters both for digital release and vinyl.

Even though we’re fully equipped to tackle the most demanding of recording projects and mixes, we’re equally proud of all the great songs that’s been written here. A lot of our clients choose to come here just to find calmness and inspiration for song writing and production.

We’ve hosted many special events, like Kygo’s release party for his album Cloud Nine where he gathered 100 special guests from all over the globe. We also hosted A-HA’s 2017 MTV Unplugged shows where we connected the studio to the stages in Giske Harbor Hall next door. In collaboration with our sister company, Momentium, one of Norways leading festival, event and live show organisers, the sky is pretty much the limit.

When Audi released their first fully electric car, the E-Tron, Ocean Sound was one of the photo locations. Several big brands like Volvo, Telenor and Gore-Tex have taken advantage of the studio and our surroundings when making commercials and ad campaigns.

We love analog! And we have both multi-track and 2-track tape machines here. So whether you want to do a full analog recording and mix from start to finish, or just transfer your tracks to tape for some glorious tape saturation we got you covered. We also do tape baking and transfers of old tape.

Whether it’s enhancing an already good performance or ironing out wrinkles and removing noise; solid editing is often under estimated when going for maximum musical impact. With years of experience and fast workflows, we can help you here.

We kind of rediscovered guitar and bass reamping during the pandemic. When guitar players were forced to work from home we were still able to get some tubes cooking and speaker cones moving for awesome guitar and bass sounds. Depending on the part, we often add tracks with some room mics, EMT plate reverb or one of the tape echos.
